Christmas

Tony worked Christmas eve day and Christmas day night. It meant that he got to spend most of the day with us but it also meant that he was up for 24 hours until he got home from work this morning.

We had a lovely day though. Jonathan's very impressed with all his presents, I think his 2 favourites are his kitchen from Father Christmas and his drum set from Grandma and Granddad.

The drum kit also has a little trumpet, maraca and guitar. Mum said she chose this kit because it wasn't as noisy as having a drum you bang. I don't think she realised you can blow through the trumpet which makes quite a high pitched noise. Jonathan quickly worked out how to make it work!

Jonathan loved his Christmas day goose curry. It was made using left overs from our goose Christmas dinner we had a few days ago. He loved it so much he had seconds. We then had a bit of a buffet for tea but I think he was too full still from dinner as he was a bit fussy but he enjoyed his sausage rolls.

I got lots of chocolate this year, The boys got me a big box of fererro roches, Tony got my some Baileys chocolates which I will safe for after baby is born and he also got me a big toblerone. If I haven't but on weight this pregnancy so far I soon will. Tony also got me a bottle of the limited edition Baileys which is orange truffle flavour. I will be having a glass of that after baby's born too. Yummy

Thunder stealers

Great our thunder has again been stolen by William and Kate.

After we got engaged and announced the date of our wedding we hear they are getting married the same year and now it's just been announced that Kate's pregnant and having their baby the same year as us too.

Everyone is talking about it and saying how great it is but there are hundreds of women that are also pregnant, they may not be royalty but to them and their families their pregnancy is just as important.

I know I probably sound selfish but I don't really care.

Cancer

It's hard to write this because it's all happening so fast it's hard to take it all in and accept it.

My Mum has throat cancer, it started in her tonsils and there's other small bits in different places in her throat.
2 weeks ago she had an operation to remove her tonsils and hopefully the tumour just behind them, they did remove the tonsils but they couldn't fully remove the tumour because of where it is. Last Thursday she met up with her consultant and other specialists. It has been decided she is having treatment over 12 weeks. Weeks 1,4,7 and 10 are going to consist of 4 days of chemotherapy, radiotherapy is going to start on week 6, every week till the end, she also needs some dental work done between week 1 and 4 as the radiotherapy will be going through her jaw and this can cause problems for the healthiest teeth and mum has a couple of weak ones so they are being removed.
They told her she would start chemo on Monday or Tuesday after dad trying all day to get through to them waiting for call backs and getting understandable annoyed they still didn't have a date or time until they called mum at about 11am today. Mum called dad who then went straight home from work to get her stuff and then went round to mum's work to pick her up and straight to the ferry. Only to be met with even more problems with the hospital. They had to wait till 7pm to get mum into her room because the guy who's room it was before had to wait from 2pm to 6pm for his meds so he could be discharged.
At least she's finally there and will start her treatment hopefully tonight through a cannula in her hand which she fainted at when she had it put in (she's not good with needles). She has a private room with her own wet room.

It's still hard to absorb it though, I'm really worried how all this treatment will affect her, will she still be the same person? I know she'll probably lose weight but she thinks that's good thing as she's overweight any way but how much is she going to lose?

I HATE CANCER!!!

boom boom

Had my 16 weeks midwife appointment today. I had that it was at 2pm, I of course forgot we had to change it as she wouldn't be in on time. So we had to go back for our appointment at 3.40pm oops.
It was well worth the wait though, we heard the heartbeat as clear as anything. Jonathan liked it too he was sat on a little chair doing a jig and clapping his hands along with the beat of his baby brother or sister's heartbeat. Only thing that was a bit rubbish is that my midwife is changing :( I think this is rubbish as I really like my midwife.

Tired

Jonathan had a nightmare last night which in turn meant we ended up having a nightmare of a night.
At about 11.30 - 12.00 Jonathan stared crying so I got up and he was on his way into our room. I put him back into bed and calmed him down but he wouldn't let us leave, we tried nearly everything from inching our way out of the room slowly to letting him into our bed. Nothing seemed to work so in the end we ended up shutting him in his room which we felt mean about but it was either that or no one got any sleep. He nodded off quite soon after but all of this lasted for a couple of hours. He then woke up just before 7am.
Tony bless him got up with Jonathan and let me have a bit more sleep till 8.45 at which point I needed to get up to get ready for us having lunch at the Cider Barn where Geraldine and Garry are staying. We had lovely fresh salmon and fruit crumble for afters but because Jonathan was so tired he got really fussy and wouldn't eat properly. His loss our gain.

I ended up putting the guard on Jonathan's bed and for once he didn't fall asleep standing at the gate. Success for one night at least

children

I haven't posted for a while because I couldn't trust myself not to spill the beans.

I'M PREGNANT!!!

This is our scan picture of Mini Wiss taken yesterday at 11 weeks + 6 days. Which means I am officially 12 weeks. It has really been taking it out of me. I've been suffering with morning sickness again and my pelvic girdle pain is already starting to rear its ugly head. Tony thinks we might be having a girl which would be nice because then we will have one of each but I'm not too worried about it.

Jonathan has been in his big boy bed for about 5 days now which was going well until he realised he can get out by himself, last night he ended up falling asleep at the gate, Tony had to pick him up to put him in his bed he didn't even wake.

Bought Mini Wiss it's first clothes today

Walking!!

We have a walker or at least when he can be bothered, it's still quicker to crawl. He took about 4 steps when we were still on the Island the morning of coming home and then yesterday (14/7/12) he walked the length of the living room. He can only do it if he starts off holding our hand though he can't do it from sitting.

holiday

We went to the Isle of Wight last week for my birthday. It may have been really wet but I had a great time.

We went on Friday, the journey wasn't too bad but it took us a while finding the cottage which was only about half hour away from the ferry. The cottage was lovely with ducks, couts and hens living outside and a pond. This unfortunately meant we had to take Buddy out on the lead all the time otherwise he would've had the feast of a lifetime. Also the old man kept coming round to the side of the cottage for the eggs etc  which Buddy really didn't like.

On Monday Tony took me to Southampton to see Avenue Q at the Mayflower. Before the show he took me to the Vestry which is a restaurant in the old church opposite the Mayflower. It was a lovely meal and the show was fantastic very much an adult show.

Tuesday was my birthday and I got very spoilt. Tony had already given my my cuttlebug and the theatre trip but he also got me a couple of books, some more crafting stuff and took me to Godshill for cream teas and let me choose some posh chocolate from the chocolate factory I got Rose flavoured and a white one with marshmallows and other bits on it.

Jonathan fed the ducks by hand he didn't even winge when the ducks pecked at his hand

We also went to Robin hill with both boys they seemed to have lots of fun.

Me and Debbie took the boys to aquababies. They had lots of fun and Jonathan kept passing the ball to Riley but Riley wanted to keep hold of it.

The journey home was horrible, from door to door it took 8 hours. This was thanks to a lot of flooding and roads being closed we kept having to change which directing we were going in.

RUDE!!!

We went to Politmore House for a craft and food fayre today. It was a nice fayre, We brought part of Riley's birthday present today which is hand made wooden money box with a football player on it and his name. The fayre finished at 4pm, we started leaving at 3.40pm after the raffle (we didn't win) but nearly wouldn't have got outo because a driver coming the other way decided he didn't want to wait for anymore cars so he stopped in front of us and didn't want to move, I couldn't move as there was a queue behind me and at the side there was parked cars. It wasn't until Tony got out that the block backed down but not before I was nearly in tears and Tony had to take over driving for me.

We got home and decided to treat ourselves to one of Di's cupcakes each, I had the mint chocolate one, it was really yummy

Cullompton town fail

Cullompton town council are a bunch of idiots. The town fayre was meant to be today which I was doing with Aerosaurus. They decided it was to be cancelled which was fair enough as the field is waterlogged but they could've told us days ago, the field was already really wet and last night's rain was forecast 84 hours ago meaning they could've warned us days ago it may have to be cancelled. My friend Di has lost money because she has been baking for the last 3 days for it.

They couldn't organise a piss up in a brewery

HOT!!!

Never let me buy Ainsley Harriott's Malaysian Curry mix again. It is advertised as mild but there is no way it can be classed as mild. Poor Jonathan had to drink a lot of milk with his dinner, it was only just ok for me too eat. I have complained but very much doubt I will get a response

Invasion of the mainlanders

Isle of Wight has gone to meltdown. The festival is on this weekend but because of the rain there's major issues getting into the carparks, this in turn has caused major traffic jams from both red funnel and wightlink. People have been stuck on the ferries all night and the traffic has been stuck for 9 hours. The Island can't cope, schools have had to close because staff and school buses can't get there. Geraldine is stuck in Bembridge, Tony think she probably won't be able to go to work today which is in Ryde.

Oh dear!!

Latin Mix

Latin Mix was great last night, it was hard work but worth it. I slept better last night than I have in months.
My period finally arrived today only a week late, this hopefully means the cyst has sorted itself out.

I'm going to a Latin Mix class tonight so Jade is looking after the boys for us until Tony gets home from work.

Corpus luteum

It turns out I might have a type of cyst, I think the doctor said it was a corpus luteum. If it isn't sorted out by itself by next Wednesday then I'm going in for some blood tests. It will give more of an idea if it is

Film night

Me and Tony decided we should watch a film last night, so I watched Emmerdale whilst Tony was putting little man to bed and then instead of watching Corrie we watched "X Men First Class" whilst eating popcorn. It was a great film and made a nice change to watch a film together we haven't done it in such a long time.

Finally decided to go to the doctors as my period is a week late, I am getting brown spotting and clots but I keep getting negative tests. I've got an appointment this evening. Hoping for some proper answers but won't hold me breath.

Smelly dog

Took Buddy for a walk with our new neighbour and their dog Buster, we also took our neighbour's builder's dog Alfie with us. We went to a field near the rugby pitch. It has sheep poo in it so you have to watch where you walk. Buddy wasn't bothered though he decided it would be a great idea to roll in a nice pile of sheep poo and also eat it Urrrgggg.

Needless to say he went in the bath straight away. We now have a very clean dog and a very clean bathroom (after that needed cleaning too)

He was a very good boy though as he was being bribed with sausages (one of his favourites)

BINGO!

Went with Jo Gundersen to Mecca bingo last night.
We may not have won but it was a good laugh and we get to play for free next time.

Spicy baby

Our little man has a spicy food like. He's just eaten Jalapeño sausages, he likes chilli chocolate, enchilattas, curry. We think he will find school dinners very bland

I'm not pregnant honest

Anyone would think I was pregnant if they saw me yesterday. I gave the kitchen a deep clean, washed all the towels, took the boys out, made a quiche. I was on a roll.

Easter

It's Easter weekend I made a yummy chocolate Easter cake. I'm really pleased with it

Instead of getting Jonathan an egg we got him a little kit of garden tools as he has shown an interest in gardening with Tony already. Also I know my Mum and Dad has bought him a little egg.

Aerosaurus

I'm loving my new job. I am casual retreival crew for the hot air balloon company Aerosaurus. It's all thanks to Buddy boy letting us know there was a balloon flying really low over our road, I watched for where they were landing and then abandoned my boys (with Tony) and ran out to help them. I got a job from that. It's great because it's up to me to say which flights I can do which works perfectly around the family.

Grown up boys

Our boys are growing up.

We put Buddy's crate away in the garage today and rearranged the kitchen/conservatory. It's so much more spacious.

Jonathan doesn't want to use his baby cup anymore, he just wants to drink out of his big boy cup, even for just juice. He only has one bottle of milk now too which is at night time. It's amazing what he will eat, he had enchilattas with us today, they weren't as hot as they were when I went into labour but they had a bit of a kick and he absolutely loved them, he had nearly a whole one to himself.

Chest infection

Poor baby boy, he's not got a chest infection. His temperature keeps spiking up to 39+, he's on antibiotics. He keeps coughing, snotty, drowsy, not eating properly etc. It took 4 days for the doctors to listen and believe he wasn't well.

Hopefully he'll be better soon but it means all his activities are cancelled until he's feeling better.

My boys

Jonathan's ill AGAIN. He has conjunctivitis and a virus. Which means no slimming world and no baby clubs this week including swimming.

Took Buddy out for an our long walk today all over the cow field and then through CCA fields. We had great fun meeting lots of people and dogs. He's now asleep which I will be doing quite early tonight

Swimming

Went with Jo Gundersen to aqua aerobics last night. I really enjoyed it, got a good workout and had fun at the same time I think it's going to be something I am going to continue with.

Taking Jonathan to his swimming lesson today. It's his second lesson and I'm really looking forward to it.

I'm really enjoying the pool at the moment hopefully we'll soon get our own pool in Cullompton

Tendinitus

I have got tendinitis in my right wrist. It means my tendons are inflamed and it really hurts. I've got to try and rest it which means no playing minesweeper :(
I'm taking a cocktail of ibuprofen and paracetamol to help with the pain but it's difficult to rest when Jonathan is wanting to be picked up a lot still.

Birthday Boy

Jonathan was one on Thursday! I can't believe how fast this year has gone. We had a party on the Island for him and he got very spoilt.

He was such a good boy and only got a bit upset when Buddy got too excited. We then had a second party on Saturday when we got home for his Devon friends although only 2 babies turned up as there seems to be a lot of bugs going around. He still had fun eating his chocolate cake though and making a fine mess!

Poor Little man

Our poor baby boy has been suffering this past week. We think he has slapped cheek, he's got the rash on his tummy now so hopefully it'll clear up soon. He woke up at 5.30am and was really screaming, crying and wriggling I think his ears were hurting again or his rash was driving him crazy, I gave him some calpol in the hope that it would help but he just wouldn't calm down, he ended up sharing our bed until he got up at 7am. He fell asleep with his head under my chin so I couldn't move until he got up. Poor little man

Sing and sign

Jonathan is very interested in his sing and sign dvd. Maybe I should see if there is a class around near here to take him to.

I've been on a bit of a cleaning spree today, I've done the hoovering, the sweeping and washing the bath mats. I've also been doing some studying, I think I deserve a lie in in the morning.

Thursday, 2 February 2012

Poorly baby boy

No wonder Jonathan has been clingy and difficult the last few days it seems he has slapped cheek illness. Hopefully it won't last much longer as the rash on his face as appeared which means it's nearly over and he's no longer infectious.

Had to change our plans for Valentines day today because the Farringford Hotel have changed their menu and it is now £50pp, stuff that!! So I've booked us into another restaurant for the same time which has got a yummy set menu especially for Valentine's day.

Bottomless pit

Me and Jonathan met Tony for lunch at the barn owl today. Jonathan shared my shepherds pie and veg. He then had a whole scoop of vanilla ice cream with no help from either of us. It then looked like he was looking to see what else he could eat. He's such a bottomless pit

Changes

Getting back on track with my Science GCSE. I've booked my exam and submitted my next two assignments. One of them I got 90% on it I can't believe it, it was the one I had least confidence in.

I'm currently applying to be a slimming world consultant, my application is in the post and I have an interview in February. I can't wait.

Jonathan's such a grown up boy now. He's no longer on formula and the other day he decided he didn't want to eat off his spoon he wanted to use one of our forks instead. This meant I then had to go and but him a cutlery set. He's also eating food from all round the world including Nasi Goreng, Paella and Curry.

Clever Little Man

Jonathan walked with just his walker from Aunty Debbie yesterday. It was the first time he has walked without holding our hands or being in his sit in walker. To begin with he wasn't very happy but once he realised what he was doing he was really pleased with himself.

The Christmas Period

We had a great Christmas. I went on a baking frenzy with my favourite being my gingerbread house all made and decorated from scratch.

Father Christmas came and left Jonathan some presents and we added the ones from the family to the pile, we all got rather spoilt. Father Christmas ate his mince pie and drank his sherry and the reindeer ate the carrot  we left out for them.

Christmas morning Tony cooked a lovely big breakfast for all of us and then we got started on the presents until Jonathan went up for a nap. Buddy loved destroying the toy Uncle Marty got for him as well as playing with the wrapping paper. Jonathan had fun playing with the wrapping paper too. Amazingly there wasn't any duplicate presents.

After the presents we all went for a walk to build up an appetite for our Christmas dinner. Dinner managed to get Tony a bit flustered because he decided everything was going well so decided on another couple of side dishes which he then wished he hadn't. Dinner was very yummy though with our 3 bird roast om nom nom.

Boxing Day was pretty uneventful with yummy bubble and squeak with left over bird and pickles.

27th December was a big family get together in Bicester. There was 3 babies there as well as everyone else. Jonathan was great whilst we were there enjoying himself so much that he didn't want to have a nap. This was fine until the journey home where he was so tired he couldn't get to sleep and screamed all the way home.

New years eve me and Jonathan went to a party at the Gundersen's for a couple of hours where he had fun playing with trains and the bubble machine. he also at cocktail sausages and sausage rolls all by himself with no help. We then went and picked Tony up from work. Whilst Tony put Jonathan to bed I got started on our tea which was steak salad and wedges for later in the evening. When it got to midnight we wished each other a happy new year and Jonathan must have sensed it because he woke up. He wasn't really crying so I bought him down so we could both wish him a happy new year he was all smiles and then went back to bed on another 4oz milk. He slept in till 9am the next day.
