Christmas

We had our Christmas on Boxing Day this year as tony was working all day on Christmas Day.

The boys got spoilt, as children usually do, by our family and friends. I think Jonathan's favourite was the intelligence devil tower.

We all enjoyed our lovely dinner of goose.

Santa had lots of fun getting the brio track ready for when Jonathan got up in the morning.

My boys

Jacob has cut his first two teeth. He's not been coping the best but he's getting through it. He had his swimming lesson today which I think he enjoying between the teething and tiredness.

Jonathan started puddleducks preschool last week. He looked so sweet in his uniform.

Back on track

Geraldine (my mother-in-law) is staying in cullompton for 3 months to help us get life back on track because I've been struggling with depression. So far it's been good, I've been able to do the food shopping on my own and have some me time even when Tony's at work.

I'm back on slimming world, I lost 2lb this week.

Jonathan is potty training at the moment don't know if we're doing it right, we'll soon see.

Oreo oreeeeeeo!

Watched wreck it Ralph with tony last night. There was some great bits in it.

My favourite has to be the Oreo biscuits marching outside king candy's palace chanting "Oreo oreeeeo, Oreo oreeeeeeo"!

Our boys

Jacob had his last swimming lesson of the term today. He's been doing some great underwater swims,  holding onto the side and the water doesn't seem to bother him at all.

Jacob is teething like mad at the moment his bottom two teeth are on their way through.

Jonathan has been working hard learning how to use the toilet.

I'm so proud of both our boys

Birthday week

I had a great birthday thanks to my wonderful boys.

I got spoilt, chocolate fondue set, csi ny, inkadinkado set and lots more. We invited Kirsty, Carl, Tristan and fletcher over for a BBQ, as usual we had way too much food but it was very yummy.

We then had the balloon festival over the weekend. Unlike last year it was a great success. Balloons took flight every opportunity. I chased the Saturday and Sunday morning flights. The Sunday chase was my favourite, I chased with Jerry and Gav. I also took part in stopping a run away balloon and the night glow on Friday. It was a very hot weekend but a good one.

Hands off my birthday!

The royal baby is apparently due on the 13th July. We all know what's going to happen it's going to be 3 days early and born on my birthday.

That will mean not only did the get married the same year as us and have a baby the same year as us but I bet it'll share my birthday.

Am I one of the only ones who isn't actually bothered about the baby, lets face it there's lots of women pregnant in the world!

Swimming

Took Jonathan for a taster swimming lesson at tiverton swimming pool today. To begin with he was quite freaked out and clung to me tighter than ever before but he slowly got into it. By the end of the half hour lesson he was laughing.

Instead of sending him back to Waterbabies at £130 a term I'm going to take him to tivvy for £19.50 a month. With that he gets his swimming lessons and I can take him to use the pool in between times for no extra.

I'm going to take Jacob for a few terms at Waterbabies though so he gets the same start as Jonathan. His lessons start next month, I'm so excited

Normality

Tony had his first run of shifts this week. I was really nervous about the first day but everything was fine. Even though last night I got less sleep than usual as Jacob was a bit fussy I think the whole shift run went ok. Even though it's nice to have tony home it's also good to get things back to normal.

Tonsillitis

Poor Jonathan has tonsillitis. We been trying to keep his temperature down, the highest it's been so far is 39.5 at which point we have to strip him down give him a tepid bath whilst leaving the cold tap n so it gradually gets colder.
He's on calpol, ibuprofen and antibiotics as well as us getting as much fluid in as possible and trying to tempt him with food which hasn't been very successful because he's in so much pain.
We're letting him watch plenty of cartoons and today we watched Cars on DVD.

Poor little man

Jacob Peter Wisson

Jacob was born at 0022 on 11/03/2913 at 37 weeks and 3 days

I started getting contractions at about 3pm on Mothering Sunday (10th) I phoned Tiverton midwife led unit at 3.30pm because the contractions got quite strong. We got there and we're the only ones in the whole unit so got the devoted attention of the midwives as well as a student midwife. I spent a few hours in the birthing pool whilst Jonathan kept an eye on me and helped by washing my hair and my back. He then went to spend the night at Zoe's
At 10pm they decided my contractions had slowed down a bit so I had to get out of the pool and they broke my waters for me which was apparently quite difficult. Once the contractions started working again properly I got back in the pool. On my gas and air the contractions got stronger and stronger and I got pushing, after just 7 minutes of pushing Jacob was born.
I suffered 2 tears which got stitched whilst I was getting high on my gas and air, I couldn't stand properly afterwards for a couple of seconds because of the gas and air.
At about 6am the midwife came to see me and said she was a bit concerned as Jacob was grunting whilst breathing which can be a sign of infection. It was decided we would get transferred to Exeter neonatal unit to be on the safe side. After 2 days and tests on blood etc it was decided there was no signs of infection and we could go home. Yay!!!!
Jonathan is not doing too bad in adjusting he's being a bit naughty but he's not shown any sign of anger at Jacob which is fantastic.

Our family is now complete

Hospital visit

I've been having really strong braxton hicks for the last few weeks, I've been to the hospital a few times already to be monitored. It turns out I have an irratable uterus, this explains why I had these problems with Jonathan too.
Last night at about 4 I was getting really strong contractions and pressure so I phoned labour ward (again) they suggested I take some paracetamol and have a bath and rest if they are still as strong or stronger in an hour call back. I did what they suggested but they were getting worse so they said I should go in and get checked even though I was only there last week and had a negative foetal fibronectin test.
I got there and for once they didn't stop straight away they got stronger, I was hooked up to the monitor for a couple of hours which wa showing regular contractions. They did an internal examination and thankfully had another negative test and no signs I was in active labour which is always reassuring. After taking some more paracetamol and some codeine my contractions calmed down and stopped by 11pm. They had already decided by this point though to keep me in over night to keep an eye on me. Thankfully though I didn't have any more painful contractions just the odd normal tightenings so I was allowed home this morning but not before I got a few lectures from different midwives/doctors about the amount I drink (or not as the case is) apparently I was very dehydrated which probably made them a lot worse so now tony is trying to make sure I drink plenty
